BS EN ISO 9001:2000 is the internationally recognised standard produced by
BSI for the requirements of a business’s quality management system.
BS EN ISO 9001:2000 lays down the requirements for a business’s quality management system. In addition to meeting these requirements, Companies that operate within given sectors, should also operate to the standards which apply to their specific sector.
In the case of the Contract Maintenance of Portable Fire Extinguishers
BAFE scheme SP101 is the sector specific standard, in turn also requiring compliance with British Standard
BS 5306 parts 3 and
8.
We carry certification by UKAS-accredited independent third party (in this case
BSI) to BS EN ISO 9001:2000 for the provision
and sale of fire and safety goods and services (specifically including
the sale and servicing of portable fire extinguishers in accordance with
BAFE scheme
SP101). Click
here for more information about our
certification.
Unfortunately, the British Standards are covered by copyright and are not available freely. However, these can be purchased at British Standard Online or alternatively, some libraries may carry copies of the more common standards.
BSI also produce a Quick Guide to BS EN ISO 9001:2000, although this does not cover trade specific areas such as
BAFE scheme SP101 or the British Standards
BS 5306-3:2003 and BS 5306-8:2000.
