Successful applicants will, after appropriate training, service the fire
fighting equipment at our customers' sites and supply or recommend goods
and/or services as required (predominantly by the relevant British
Standard,
BS 5306, although other standards and
legislation can also apply).
Inherent to the job is the supply of high levels of goods and services,
upon which the successful applicants will earn commission.
First and foremost we're looking for go-getters. Whilst successful
applicants need not have any experience in this trade, they must be very
confident at being customer-facing and have demonstrable potential for
success in sales. This will be self-evident from the successful
applicants' presentation and/or career history.
As there is a degree of paperwork to the performance of the job,
successful candidates must be able to demonstrate an appropriate level
of numeracy. Additionally, due to the nature of the sales aspects of the
job, literacy is also essential and should again be evident in the
candidates' presentation.
Successful Applicants' must possess a current full valid UK driving
licence. Ideally, this should also be clean.
Typically, the first four to six weeks of employment will be spent
undertaking induction and training. This typically consists of a
combination of two or more of the following:
- in-house classroom-environment training & induction;
- accompanied 'in the field' training; and
- trade-association provided training and examination.
Potentially, the training can be anywhere in Great Britain. Most
often, it usually consists of a mix of a couple of weeks near one of our
regional centres, four-to-five days attending a trade association
course/exam, with the remainder of the time spent in the employees' own
patch.
The training given will be intended to lead to the candidate passing one
of the trade-specific accredited professional examinations, a
requirement for the position.
The successful candidate, having satisfactorily completed the above
first stages of training, will then be able to perform the job
unaccompanied. Needless to say, we provide a layer of support and are
always on hand in these early stages. This together with our stringent
quality control regime helps ensure our staff work to the highest
standards right from the outset.
Beyond this, further training is also provided on an ad-hoc basis with a
view of further refining the successful candidates' performance and
introducing and familiarising them to our other products and services.
Additionally, in accordance with the requirements of our various
accreditations, we also provide periodic refresher training and
examination. As with the initial qualification, the ongoing passing of
such refresher examinations is also a requirement for the position.
The package offered is amongst the best in the trade for successful
engineers.
The package is formed by a basic salary that is supplemented by
commission. Successful candidates should relish the opportunities of
such a salary structure.
On top of this, there is also entitlement to enter into further reward
schemes upon completion of approximately twelve months service.
Holiday entitlement starts at 20 days per annum and increases to 30 days
with length of service. Holiday entitlement is in addition to Bank
Holidays.
A fully funded company van is provided.
